Tufts University: 175 Years of Innovation

Linda (Shuying) Xu, MG24, earned her PhD in Immunology from Tufts Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Her research explored host-pathogen interactions, with a focus on neutrophil responses during pneumococcal pneumonia. While at Tufts Xu developed an imaging technique that used VectaShield Antifade Mounting Medium to help maintain fluorescence in stem cell samples, improving her and other researchers’ ability to observe the role of the neutrophil in lung functioning.
