Tufts University: 175 Years of Innovation

The Friedman School led the co-founding of the Food Research and Action Center, a national coalition that provided robust input to the historic 2022 White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health, held with the purpose of updating the National Strategy on Hunger, Nutrition and Health. Through the coalition’s educational efforts, numerous recommendations posed during the conference were represented in the new National Strategy, such as the strengthening of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and increased focus on ensuring affordable healthcare. The Friedman School is also home to the Tufts Nutrition Council, a leadership group founded in 2016 to promote nutrition and food equity.
