Tufts Presidents from Ballou to Kumar

Thirteen presidents have celebrated their installations on the hill since the founding of Tufts College. This exhibit offers a glimpse at each president and a survey of the highlights and major events of their tenures. The exhibit opens with a welcome to President Kumar then moves back through time all the way to Tufts' first president, Rev. Hosea Ballou 2d.

Jackson College at Tufts University in the late 1920s as told through the life of Muriel Simonson, Tufts's first undergraduate theatre director.

Originally staged online in 2007, this small exhibit on Jackson College was re-staged in a new exhibit environment in 2018.

TARC presents a series of exhibits focusing on the two United States Navy programs, the V-12 and NROTC, that arrived on campus during World War II.

John Holmes was a poet and professor of English at Tufts. This exhibit provides access to his work through annotated poems, “biographies” of poems, audio poems, and poems animated with photographs and soundtracks. Please note that this project was completed in 1999.

Donald and Charlotte MacJannet established international camps and schools, including one at Talloires where the Tufts European Center is located. The exhibit explores the ideas of leadership, international understanding, and education through their lives and work.

The exhibit features Murrow’s career from his student days to his work for USIA with additional essays on his private life, on the accomplishments of his wife, Janet Brewster Murrow, and on the ‘Murrow Boys.' Using items from the Edward R. Murrow Papers at TARC, the exhibit describes known and lesser-known aspects of Murrow’s work and life, placing them in the political and historical context of his career.

Walter B. Wriston (August 3, 1919 - January 19, 2005) was a banker and former chairman of Citicorp. An expert on commercial banking, Mr. Wriston wrote and spoke widely on topics relating to finance, banking, technology, and international business.
