Dorm Life
According to Tufts College Catalogues from the turn of the 19th century, Albert Metcalf of Newton donated money in the fall of 1894 for the creation of the first women's dormitory on the Tufts campus. Soon Start House and Richardson House were added as housing options for those female students not living with relatives in the area.

Richardson House was opened for women in October, 1910.

This picture shows the living quarters in Knight House of Alice Harrington, Class of 1925. According to the 1925 Jumbo Book, Miss Harrington graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
