Another Light on the Hill Black Students at Tufts

Willie Young

Willie Young A73 was the captain of the Tufts basketball team in 1973. He grew up on Long Island playing basketball on the playground, and came to Tufts after playing all-city in New York his senior year. Though he was initially disappointed from the transition to college basketball, citing the college players as “more physical, more intent on winning,” Young had a successful run on the team, scoring over 1000 points in 3 seasons. He graduated from Tufts in 1973.
