Another Light on the Hill Black Students at Tufts

Ron Woods

Boston native Ronnie Woods A80 was a hero both on the basketball court and in campus housing after he helped protect other students from an assailant, 1978

Ronnie Woods A80 was a basketball player at Tufts University, and a member of the Class of 1980. He matriculated to Tufts in 1976 from Roxbury, Massachusetts. During his time at Tufts, he was close to Jim Campbell, an excellent player in Wood’s year who served as the team captain for the 1979-1980 season. Woods also aided in the capture of an assailant in February of 1978; after hearing a woman’s scream from the campus shuttle bus, Woods chased an attacker into a dormitory, where he was arrested by the police. He graduated from the School of Arts and Sciences in 1980.
