About the collection

Books in this collection were donated by Professor Emerita Carol Houlihan Flynn in 2019. While this exhibit includes only the books donated by Professor Flynn, Tisch's collection contains other books that may be classified as "girls' books", including additional titles from some of the series featured here. Professor Emerita Flynn began teaching English at Tufts in 1985. She has a BA in English from the University of Illinois, an MA in American Civilization from Brown University, and a Ph.D. in English from the University of California at Berkeley.¹
